Background

Owned by Northumberland Estates this former supermarket was to be developed into a café with retail facilities and a commercial kitchen.

The Project

Designed by Sullivan Associates the former supermarket was to be fully stripped, reconfigured, and then fitted out ready for a turn-key opening after only 16 weeks.

Scope of Works

Most internal walls were removed, structural openings were formed to provide an open plan eating area, toilets were created, and the entrance was upgraded.  Our brief was also to create a large commercial kitchen that could supply all North East Running Fox Cafes with specialist homemade produce. Externally the roof was repaired, new windows and doors installed, and the drainage system reconfigured. Completed in 2022 the café has been open 18 months and we understand is a total success.
