Healey Barns Wedding Venue
Background
Our client already runs a number of successful wedding venues in the UK and took possession of this redundant 18th century farmstead in Northumberland. Our brief was to create a multi-functional venue that could host weddings capable of accommodating up to 200 guests, provide bride/groom changing facilities, high specification guest toilets and a commercial catering facility.
The Project
Whilst retaining the original unique character of the farm buildings, our brief was to mix old with new to provide modern facilities that any bride and groom would fall in love with and want their ceremony held within.
The Scope of Works
The derelict barns had to be partially demolished and rebuilt, rotten roof structures removed and replaced with replica green oak beamed trusses, old concrete floors removed and replaced in limestone with under floor heating. Stone walls were sympathetically repaired and repointed.
The original farmhouse was transformed into a modern catering kitchen and management offices with a marketing suite.
The former farmyard and cattle pens were removed and in their place stone patios, BBQ facilities and even an external bar area were installed. In addition, tree planting, turfing and car parking facilities were all created.
This 5-star property is now a hugely successful venue, enjoyed by thousands every year.
