Background

The EGGER site at Hexham is a major manufacturer of wood based products that supply businesses across the UK.  Over 800 people work at the site and Datim are a preferred contractor to undertake specialist building and refurbishment works to their stock of commercial and industrial buildings within this live site.

The Projects

Projects recently completed include the refurbishment and extension to the Production Managers offices, creation of a training centre, building of a marketing suite and forming new production staff welfare and toilet facilities.

Scope of Works

Datim Joiners recently created a series of modern equipped offices within a redundant part of the site.  Working to a strict programme large open spaces were subdivided into meeting rooms, offices, and welfare areas.  Partitions, suspended ceilings, flooring, IT systems and energy efficient lighting were all installed.

The completed marketing suite project was a design and build contract that now provides state of the art presentation and meeting spaces.  Datim Joiners installed bespoke display cabinets, catering facilities and high specification finishes to suit our clients brief.

Datim have also been involved in a project that involved constructing welfare and toilet facilities within the main manufacturing building.  Capable of accommodation over 250 staff at any one time the kitchen, welfare, shower, and toilet facilities had to be completed ready for the new intake of staff planned in 2018.
